[Melodyne] Upgrade Offer To Studio

Hi Brian.

I’ve talked to Scott, as this is to do with Reaper not Melodyne. In that
dedicated window, native keys don’t get through, even with the necessary
options enabled in Reaper.

Hi Steve,

Hav you talked with the celomony folk about this? Maybe they could do
something about it.

Hi Michael.

Yep, I’ve been looking at Reaper, but there’s a couple of issues that put a
spanner in the works. Firstly, Melodyne doesn’t allow keystrokes to be used
when in a dedicated process in Reaper, e.g. it’s own window. It’s nothing to
do with scripts, it’s native Melodyne keystrokes.

Also, if the scripts were to be used in the native plugin window, they have
to deal with a lot of focus issues, as there’s a ton of windows in that view
and the scripts would have to put focus in the plugin window all the time,
which isn’t ideal
I guess this is why Reaper users have to do that manually
with F6. This means a lot of processing of that focus, which is fine if a
script only has a handful of accessibility keystrokes, but the Melodyne
scripts have to do a great deal of under the hood process’s.

So, at this point I’m undecided how or if to continue. Add to that the
amount of possible users who would use it, then it becomes work that has
virtually little return.

Anyway, if I do end up with something for Reaper, then I’ll let people know.

Hey Steve

I was just watching a video on the sound designer. Some nice stuff there but
I don’t think we can access it. If we could I think I’d upgrade. Well, I
guess I will be happy with the Editor then. I still haven’t purchased your
scripts yet. I haven’t been recording lately but I will be soon. I had
better get the scripts today and get it all working.

I would just buy the stand alone version of the scripts, Cost: £45?

Is that correct? I’m using Reaper. You were working with Reaper but ran in
to issues. Any progress there?

Sorry to be such a bother and thank you.

Michael

Hi Michael.

No, I’m pretty sure you won’t be missing out on anything. The Studio version
allows for multi tracks to be worked on at once and there’s a sound designer
I think. If these are important to you and you maybe could get sighted help
using them, then go for the upgrade, if not, having the editor should do
everything you need.

Hey Steve

Would getting the Studio version give me any advantages? I am totally blind.
I understands the scripts won’t give me anything more but I don’t know if
there’s things that I would be able to do with my voice or guitar in the
Studio version that I can’t do with the Editor. . I just want to make sure
I’m asking the right questions.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Michael.

No, having the Studio version won’t give you anymore supported features with
the scripts.

Subject: [Melodyne] Upgrade Offer To Studio

Hello

I have an offer to upgrade from Editor to Studio for 149 USD. I believe that
with the jaws scripts I can’t use the multi tracking however, are there
other options that I’d want to be able to work with vocal and guitar tracks?

I will be using the stand-alone version of the scripts as I’m a Reaper guy.

Thanks

Michael
