[Melodyne] Samplitude Reaper

Regarding Reaper, unfortunately at the moment, I’m not getting the information I need to complete things. I’ll have to contact Celemony after the holidays to see if they can help, as no one I’ve had contact with even knows how to insert Melodyne into Reaper as ARA. Also, native keystrokes are not being executed in Reaper and I don’t know why. So, simply pressing left/right arrow keys don’t do anything, Q, P and N don’t open the quantize, correct pitch or note levelling windows either. It’s difficult, as I don’t know if this is being affected by OSARA or JAWS scripts…or it’s a configuration setting in Reaper itself.
Best steve.

Hi there,
Back to the Reaper subject, I believe you can use Melodyne as an external editor in Reaper, which is not like having it as a plug-in, but it certainly makes things a lot easier.
Cheers,

Thanks Brian . I think the computer is fine. A buddy looked up the Display adapter Radeon HD 6450, and said it will handle HDMI and that should work. If not, daddy just might need a new computer. Oh boy. haha.

Hi,
I hope you’re computer isn’t that old too as you’d need a max 5 year old computer to be sure it supports that resolution.
About every new monitor supports hd resolution.

Thank you for your response. The old monitor I have now is small. That's all I know. Grin. Not a problem buying a new monitor. My lady doesn't like the one I have now. She always complains when I need her eyes for one thing or another. So, she'll be happy and I should be able to work more quickly in Melodyn. I am looking forward to giving your scripts a go.
Thank you for your efforts Steve.
Michael.

Hi Michael.
Unfortunately, Melodyne’s graphical interface and the script solution have to be screen resolution specific, which isn’t always the case with programs. Many times it doesn’t really matter, but in this case it does, hence why either of those resolutions is necessary.
I actually had to write code for both, as I wanted to give as much flexibility to the user as possible and supporting more resolutions would have been very difficult, so I went with those ones, which was difficult enough 😀. I don’t like the fact that you may have to get a new monitor, but there’s no other way around it I’m afraid.
You can often pick up a used monitor very cheap, but equally new ones are much cheaper than they used to be. You simply have to have one that supports that bigger resolution and it’s usually mentioned in the specs. A 21 inch should be fine, but you can go bigger, 24 inch etc. I’m no expert, but you shouldn’t go wrong with that kind of size. Do you know how big the monitor you have now is?

Hello Steve
I am getting ready to purchase the standalone scripts. I read the following.
• A screen resolution of 1920X1080 or 1600X900 specifically. To use these scripts, setting your screen resolution to one of these is required. Failure to do so will result in no scripts being loaded.
I have a very old monitor and this is the first time I’ve needed a higher resolution. Here’s what settings has.
1280 × 1024 (Recommended).
Do I need to run out and get a new monitor? If so what should I be looking for? What are the minimum requirements? Sorry I am completely ignorant when it comes to monitors.
Thanks a lot.
Michael

Hi Michael.
I’m currently working on the plugin and ARA versions for Reaper, but this doesn’t seem to be as straight forward as I first thought, as Reaper isn’t allowing Melodyne keystrokes to be used at the moment. I’m having dialog with smarter Reaper people, so I’m hoping this aspect can be overcome.
In the meantime the stand alone version of Melodyne is universal, so not DAW specific, hence you can edit files in there and then bring them into Reaper.
Best steve.

Subject: [Melodyne] Samplitude Reaper
Hello
I am new here in this list. I am planning to purchase the Jaws scripts. I watched the videos in the scripts section. I don’t know anything about Samplitude. Can I use the script in Reaper? I was previously using the NVDA scripts.
I would send the vocal track from Reaper to Melodyne, work on it and then I think I sent it back to Reaper. Maybe I saved it to a wav file. It has been a while.
Thank you for this list and any advice.
Michael
